Description

This Château d'Armailhac is a tale of resilient Bordeaux, seemingly etched in granite and Merlot. Remarkably, the vineyard – boasting records dating back to 1680 – nearly succumbed to a series of rather unpleasant climatic whims: hail, an unexpectedly mild spring, and a summer seemingly designed to test an winemaker's patience. The resulting grapes, small but incredibly concentrated, reflect the tenacity of the vines and the skill of the growers. The result? Full-bodied, intensely coloured wines with a structure promising longevity. A bold statement of intent from Pauillac, carrying a legacy spanning centuries. Ideal with a hearty steak, or, for the more adventurous, a well-stewed rabbit.
