This Crasto Double Magnum clearly demonstrates a rather meticulous approach. The grapes, sourced from carefully selected parcels, were assessed using 22kg plastic crates – a ritual that, frankly, sounds a touch excessive, but undeniably ensures the most discerning selection. The stainless steel fermentation, with precise temperature control, is a reassuring sign, and the producer's insistence on inox, with just a whisper of oak, points to a desire for the unadulterated expression of the Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Aragonez and Tinta Barroca varietals. A particularly appealing pairing would be with grilled fish and lemon rice, wouldn't you agree?
