In 1995 on Pico Island, Curral Atlântis was born from the partnership between Jorge Bohm and Manuel Faria. Starting with just 3 hectares of vines, they launched an experimental plot with 24 grape varieties, aiming to revive old stocks such as Verdelho and Arinto dos Açores. With support from the University of Évora and winemaker Paulo Laureano, new wines were crafted and markets won. Today owned by the Faria family, Curral Atlântis now covers 42 hectares, producing a diverse range of wines that showcase Azorean quality, shaped by Atlantic influence and volcanic terroir.
