This Douro white is a delightfully quirky blend of Viognier, Gouveio and Rabigato – it clearly had a rather sophisticated teenage phase in stainless steel tanks, retaining all its youthful freshness and vibrancy. Careful temperature control during fermentation (a cool 14°C for a month) ensured that characteristic Douro balance. A touch of oak ageing then brought in some lovely elegance, and, well, a silver medal at the International Wine Challenge 2023 certainly confirms it’s a worthwhile investment. Wonderful with grilled seafood, perhaps?
