Description

This Private Selection Semillon from Esporão certainly knows how to make an entrance. Born in 2001, it’s remarkably well-adjusted to the Alentejo terroir, despite initially challenging convention. Maturation in new French oak has delivered a wonderfully complex wine with notes of white plum and ripe lemon, subtly spiced – a bold statement indeed. A well-deserved 95 points from Wine Enthusiast suggests the wine might have been enjoying the provocation just as much as the critic.
