The Lima Mayer wines are produced at Quinta de São Sebastião in Monforte, which belonged to one of the most traditional and prestigious agricultural houses of Alto Alentejo, owned by the Marquês da Praia e Monforte. The terrain is gentle, the soils are granite, and the estate is largely covered by scrub of azinho and sobro, with some rocky outcrops. It is bounded by two streams that provide a wealth of water resources and give the landscape an extraordinary beauty. In 20 hectares of vines, the estate selects the finest Iberian and French varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Alicante Bouschet and Aragonês. (illustrative image only)
