Description

The Herdade do Monte da Ribeira dates back to 1958, being acquired in 1986 by industrialist Victor Carmona e Costa, who over the next 15 years not only completely renovated the estate but also established its current productive agricultural structure and cellar. The estate is located in the parish of Pedrogão, belonging to the municipality of Vidigueira, near the village of Marmelar. It covers approximately 1,100 hectares dedicated to viticulture and forestry. With winemaking as a primary focus, the first vineyard was planted in 1989, and the first harvest was sold in 1992 under the Vidigueira label. Later, the Pousio and Quatro Caminhos brands were added, and more recently, the Marmelar brand. (Illustrative image)
