This Montaria Grande Escolha bursts onto the palate with a rich, dark ruby colour, immediately delivering notes of black cherry – and a lovely hint of mint that’s wonderfully evocative. The wine is powerfully smooth, a true reflection of the Alentejo’s terroir, thanks to a blend of Syrah’s elegance and the firm structure of Touriga Nacional. It’s a wine with the strength to seriously compete – as evidenced by its awards – alongside a hearty beef roast.
