This Monte da Ravasqueira, awarded 87 points, certainly proves the Alentejo still holds a few delightful surprises. The ripe blackcurrant and vibrant freshness of the fruit is beautifully balanced by the elegant tannins, generously provided by Touriga Nacional and, of course, the subtle spice of Syrah. A refreshing mint note and a hint of truffle elevate the experience, making it a wine deserving of contemplation – or, perhaps wisely, cellaring, as its complexity will undoubtedly deepen with time. Perfect with hearty beef dishes, and a fitting tribute to the legacy of D. Diniz.
