José Maria da Fonseca has been engaged in winemaking since 1834, a product of a shared passion within a family that has preserved and projected the memory and prestige of its founder. Aware of its responsibility, it is today the oldest producer of table wine and Moscatel de Setúbal in Portugal, José Maria da Fonseca follows a philosophy of continual development, which leads it to keep investing more in research and production support, combining the most modern techniques with traditional knowledge. A prime example of this is the Adega José de Sousa Rosado Fernandes in Reguengos de Monsaraz, Alentejo, where the Roman tradition of fermenting in clay pots is maintained alongside the latest technology.
