This Quinta da Extrema Cabernet Sauvignon, already showing a good level of maturity, has spent 24 months ageing in used oak barrels – you can really taste the result. It presents a vibrant, ruby-red colour and a wonderfully complex aroma of ripe red berries, with intriguing hints of spice and cedar. On the palate, it’s a remarkably elegant and persistent wine, carrying a lingering finish that speaks of the Douro’s demanding terroir. Seriously, it’s fantastic with a hearty beef roast or a generous paella.
