Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal, founded in 1922 under the name João Pires & Filhos, has travelled a long journey, establishing itself as one of the most innovative wine producers in Portugal. The company began by producing wines from grapes grown in the Palmela region. Throughout the 1980s, Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal began its expansion, acquiring estates across the country and creating new paradigms for quality wine production.
