Ruelas Reserva tinto is crafted from the Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional and Syrah grapes. It boasts an excellent structure and elegance, blending two of Portugal’s most prestigious native varieties with French Syrah. A brief period of oak ageing has added complexity and roundness. Quinta do Gradil has been mentioned in the history of Portuguese wines since 1492. However, it was only in the 17th century that the vineyard and wine became part of the estate’s economic activity. The most decisive turning point came in the 19th century when Dona Maria do Carmo Romeiro da Fonseca inherited Quinta do Gradil from her father, transforming it into a leading agricultural enterprise focused on wine production. Many years later, Quinta do Gradil remains a Portuguese benchmark worldwide, now led by Luís Vieira. (illustrative image only)
