This tradition of excellence began with the launch of its first wine, *Tapada de Coelheiros*, in 1991. Located in the municipality of Arraiolos—known for its intricate hand‑stitched borders that create one of Portugal’s most beautiful traditional crafts, the famous Arraiolos rugs—Herdade dos Coelheiros decided to honor the cultural identity of this land on the labels of its wines.
