This Vale da Capucha from Pedro Marques & Manuel Marques is clearly a wine deeply connected to its terroir – just 9km from the Atlantic! The clay-calcareous soils contribute a remarkably fresh profile, evidenced by a pH of 3.2 and a total acidity of 6.1. Hand-harvested during the coolest hours, the Syrah, Castelão and Arinto grapes express themselves beautifully thanks to natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts. It’s a restrained and elegant wine, perfect with grilled fish or white meats – a gentle ‘hand-stamp’ of quality, if you will.
