“Château Ormes de Pez, a Pauillac that was perhaps a little too eager to greet spring, only for nature to swiftly intervene. The Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes appeared to be maturing ahead of schedule, but a relentless summer heat quickly tempered their progress. Thankfully, combined with a promising terroir, this resulted in a wine with remarkable character – perfect alongside a perfectly grilled beef, perhaps with a rich red wine reduction and a hint of spice.”
