This Chocapalha, built around robust Aragonez and Touriga Nacional, certainly seems to have benefited from a remarkably generous terroir. The 92 points awarded by Wine Enthusiast certainly weren’t misplaced – expect a deep violet colour, concentrated to the point of feeling almost organic, alongside aromas of ripe blackberries balanced by floral notes, likely influenced by the Touriga Francesa. It’s a wine with a solid structure and a long finish, perfect alongside a good grilled beef – perhaps a Silbo Preto would be an excellent pairing.
