Founded in 1880 by Adriano Ramos Pinto, the house quickly became known for its innovative and pioneering strategy in the production and marketing of Port wine. It is recognized for linking high-quality wine with avant-garde advertising, particularly its collection of Belle Époque posters. Ramos Pinto owns four estates (Quinta do Bom Retiro, Quinta da Urtiga, Quinta dos Bons Ares, and Quinta de Ervamoira) in the Douro Valley, where it conducts extensive research into viticulture and terroir, producing a range of quality Port and Douro wines.
