Syrah

About this grape variety

Born in France's Northern Rhône — Hermitage and Côte-Rôtie are its homeland — Syrah produces dark, full-bodied, structured reds with signature black-pepper, blackberry, smoked-meat and violet aromatics. It thrives in warm, dry climates and is known as Shiraz in Australia, where it makes the riper, more opulent style. South Africa, the Northern Rhône, Cornas, Hermitage, Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale represent the great Syrah/Shiraz expressions globally.
