This Crasto Rosé, from Quinta do Crasto, certainly had an interesting start – 22kg plastic crates and meticulous sorting, eh? Despite that, the result is a refreshingly elegant rosé, bursting with raspberry and violet notes, perfect for pairing with salads or seafood. The real secret lies in the terroir: schistous vineyards at 400 metres above sea level, influenced by Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz. The partial "bâtonnage" – working with the lees – adds a welcome layer of complexity. A production that clearly demands a certain attention to detail.
